Between 2019 and 2025, we successfully represented a consortium responsible for the construction and remodeling of Santiago’s International Airport in disputes exceeding US$350 million. These are construction contract disputes against various subcontractors (six arbitration proceedings, both domestic and international, and civil lawsuits), involving multiple areas (civil, bankruptcy, among others), as well as insurance-related issues.
We currently represent a leading Chilean construction company in a CAM Santiago arbitration for more than US$160 million against an Australian-owned company. The arbitration, initiated by our client, concerns the construction of a highway in Valparaíso Region (Chile), involving an investment of over US$250 million.
We currently represent a consortium formed by two leading Chilean construction companies in a CAM Santiago arbitration exceeding US$100 million. The dispute relates to the construction of a highly complex urban highway, a project with an investment of more than US$300 million.
We represent a construction company in a CAM Santiago arbitration against an insurance company that refused to pay first-demand guarantee policies.
We are currently representing a major Chinese company in an ICC arbitration involving nearly US$5 million. The dispute concerns an alleged breach of a Memorandum of Understanding.
We participated in the representation of a Peruvian company in an international commercial arbitration under the rules of the Lima Chamber of Commerce. The dispute relates to the construction of a hydroelectric plant in Chile.
We participated in the representation of an Argentine businessman in a dispute involving the sale of a company he founded at allegedly below-market and fraudulent prices. The amount in dispute exceeded US$44 million.
We challenged an international arbitration award issued by a distinguished tribunal in a dispute between an Ecuadorian consulting services company and a U.S. firm concerning services provided in a large-scale construction project in Ecuador’s oil and energy sector. The award involved approximately US$19 million. The annulment petition was rejected, resulting in a favorable outcome for our client.
We represent a concessionaire responsible for constructing one of Santiago’s main highways in a concession arbitration involving approximately US$27 million, filed against the Ministry of Public Works.
Over the past five years, we have participated in the defense of one of Chile’s largest mining companies in various lawsuits and arbitrations totaling at least US$500 million. These are complex civil disputes and arbitrations related to the construction, installation, and operation of major mining sites, among other issues.
We currently represent one of Chile’s largest construction companies in a civil lawsuit for approximately US$9 million. The case, initiated by our client, is against the Ministry of Public Works and concerns the construction of a major road in southern Chile.
We represent one of the country’s most important water sanitation companies in a dispute involving the expansion of a water treatment plant in the Valparaíso Region, serving approximately 80,000 residents. The amount in dispute exceeds US$4 million.
Since 2014, we have represented a leading nationwide retail company in all legal actions related to Consumer Protection Law No. 19,496. To date, nearly 120 lawsuits have been processed before ordinary civil courts and local police courts.
We have acted on several occasions before the CMF. Recently, we represented the consortium in charge of building and remodeling Santiago International Airport in a CMF proceeding concerning an insurer’s non-compliance with insurance regulations related to surety or first-demand guarantee insurance. The sanctioning process ended successfully, with the insurer receiving the largest penalty in Chile’s history for violations involving this type of insurance.
We have extensive experience in administrative contentious matters. For example, we defended a major retail company in all investigations and administrative proceedings initiated by the Chilean authority (Regional Health Secretariat) during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We have provided pre-litigation strategic advice to a major Australian-owned mining company, including the development of large infrastructure and energy projects, involving contingencies exceeding US$500 million. These matters have not been judicialized.
We provide strategic and contractual advice to a Chinese company for the construction and installation of photovoltaic projects involving an investment of approximately US$250 million.
We advised a Chinese construction company on the development of several PMGD projects in southern Chile.
We have advised this consortium and provided contractual support in the context of the construction of an urban highway in Santiago.
We advised a company responsible for constructing an airport, involving ongoing negotiations to prevent disputes and ensure the project’s development.
